BiographyEdit

Frank Lopez was born on January 3, 1932 in Cuba. His background is Sephardic Jewish. He moved to the United States sometime in the 1970s to establish his drug cartel.

Lopez wants a hit done on Emilio Rebenga, a former aide of Fidel Castro who tortured and murdered Frank's brother while serving as a top henchmen just after the Cuban Revolution. Rebenga was no longer trusted and removed by Castro and banished from Cuba. The communist government put Rebenga in with the other political prisoners, who were mass deported in the Mariel Boatlift. Lacking proper credentials, Rebenga was remanded to Freedom Town by the American authorities.

Lopez had the word put out and it reached Manny, who in turn suggested it to his friend Tony Montana, who were both staying inside Freedomtown. Lopez was offering a way out of Freedomtown plus a green card to anyone willing to "take care" of Rebenga.

Tony accepts the offer and tells Manny to tell Lopez that he would kill a communist for fun, but for a green card he's going to "carve up Rebenga real nice."

Tony Montana took advantage of the riots in Freedomtown to find and assassinate Rebenga. Knowing he is greatly outnumbered and in serious danger, Rebenga tries to avoid confrontation with anyone but is eventually cornered inside a burning tent by Tony, Angel and a switchblade-brandishing Manny. All the Cubans inside the tent, banging pipes and sticks against the bars of the cot beds are all yelling "Libertad!"(Freedom!) as they surround Rebenga. Having only one option, Rebenga goes for the exit of the tent where Tony quickly stabs him two times, mortally wounding him. No one aids Rebenga.

Afterwards, Tony, Chi-Chi, Manny and many others are released from Freedom Town and sent to go get their pictures taken for a green card, as agreed with Lopez. Manny and Tony land a job at a local sidewalk cafeteria as dish washers.

Lopez's henchmen, Omar Suarez and Waldo Rojas approach Tony and Manny at their job with an offer to make more money involving several pounds of marijuana. Tony rejects the deal, wanting more money, a lot more. Omar is annoyed at Tony's lack of appreciation for the deal and right before he almost pulls out his gun and shoots Tony, Waldo stops him and quickly and quietly suggests assigning them to the Colombians.

Tony, Chi-Chi, Manny and another associate, Angel, arrive at the Sun Ray Hotel to conduct a cocaine deal with a gang of murderous Colombians, led by Hector "The Toad". Manny and Chi-Chi wait for Tony's signal to bring the money, and go inside the hotel room where the deal is to take place.

As Hector, the Colombian gang leader, attempts to fast-talk Tony, even questioning where he is from, two more Colombian thugs grab Angel, and the two of them are ambushed. As Tony and Angel are held at gunpoint by Hector's mistress, Marta and the other two Colombians, Hector reveals a chainsaw that had been concealed in a briefcase. Angel is butchered by Hector, while Tony watches in horror as his friend is killed. Manny and Chi-Chi make their way inside, gunning down Marta and Hector's men. Hector is injured, but manages to escape into the street, with Montana on his tail. Montana finishes him off, and the crew gets away.

Tony and Manny ingratiate themselves with Lopez by not only refunding the buy money from the botched deal, but showing they captured two kilograms of cocaine and hand it over to Frank. At first things seem to go well for Tony, where Frank is pleased with the drug running of Tony and Manny. However, Tony is also introduced to Elvira Hancock, Lopez's mistress who will eventually become the source of tension between them.

Tensions rise when Suarez is killed by Alejandro Sosa's men in Bolivia. Lopez is angered, and accuses Montana of stealing the deal. Montana goes as far as to propose to Elvira. Combined with that, Lopez and Montana have a heated confrontation at the Babylon Club, resulting in two Colombian gunmen being sent in to assassinate Montana. Montana escapes, and confronts his corrupt cop henchman Mel Bernstein along with Manny and Chi-Chi. After disarming Lopez, the aging drug lord begins pleading for his life and Tony agrees that he won't kill Lopez. He then gives Manny the signal to kill Lopez. Lopez receives a shot to the chest and Montana finishes off Mel.

Scarface: The World is YoursEdit

In the quasi-sequel game, Frank is mentioned by Tony several times saying that he's sorry about his death but that Frank was wrong.

Also the Lopez Motors, the showroom owned by Frank where Tony bought his Cadillac, was renamed to Diaz Motors.
